NKYINKYIM BAND TO EMBARK ON A MEDIA TOUR THIS WEEK

In anticipation of their maiden album release, Ghana’s Nkyinkyim Band will be embarking on a media tour on a couple of radio and television stations this week.

The band kick-starts this tour with an appearance on Original TV’s “E CHAT” program on Thursday, 18^thAugust, 2022 at 7:00pm. The tour continues on Friday, 19^th August with “Showbiz 360” on TV3 and then Accra 100.5FM on Saturday, 20^th August.

During this tour, Nkyinkyim will be talking about their “Where we dey” album and what music lovers should expect. Listeners and viewers will also be entertained with great live music performances. Fans of Nkyinkyim Band are therefore urged to take note of these tour dates.

“Where we dey” is a ten-track album that discusses life’s journey, life and death, love and hate, friends and family. It also throws light on the quest to figure out the true purpose of life – in trying to find answers to questions like: “Where are we going?”, “Are we on the right path?”, “Why are we here?”, Hence “WHERE WE DEY?”

Lovers of good live band music and lovers of Nkyinkyim Band will on August 27, 2022 witness an exhibition of greatness with carefully crafted songs to soothe the soul and get them toe tapping. The album cuts across all genres of popular music with purpose of satisfying all the diverse forms of music enthusiasts. Also featured on the album include Kwame Brenya, Blaqad, highlife veteran Kojo Nda as well as Afro pop superstar Fameye.

“Nkyinkyim” is an Adinkra symbol which represents versatility, initiative and dynamism. It also relates to the proverb that says “Life is a twisted journey”.  The band thus draws its inspiration from this symbol.
